Fire crews are at a derelict hospital East Lothian hospital that is on fire for the second time in three months.
Emergency services were on scene at the former Edenhall Hospital, Musselburgh shortly after 3pm on Tuesday (06-08-2024).
Stark images show the building well alight, and extensive damage from previous fires.
The building has also suffered from anti-social behaviour, vandalism in recent years.
In May, Police asked the public to avoid the area due to extensive damage making the buildings unsafe.
At 4.30pm images show the smouldering wreck as the blaze is brought under control by fire crews.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.04pm on Wednesday, 6 August, to reports of a fire within a single-storey derelict building on Edenhall Road, Musselburgh.
“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances, including height and specialist vehicles to the scene, where crews are working to extinguish a well-developed fire.
“There are no reported casualties.”
The Scottish Ambulance service confirmed they did not attend.
NHS Lothian closed the building in 2010 and the site has been up for sale since 2016.
