Man 77, seriously injured after fall from wheelchair

A 77-year-old man was seriously injured as he fell from his wheelchair into oncoming traffic.

Emergency services rushed to the mans aid following the collision involving a Vauxhall Corsa, opposite the Corstorphine Inn, on Corstorphine High Street in Edinburgh at approximately 4.10pm on Monday.

The road was closed for several hours while Police accident investigators carried out their enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Edinburgh road policing officers attended a collision in Corstorphine High Street around 4.10 pm on Monday, 7th November.

“A 77-year-old man sustained a serious injury when he fell out of his wheelchair into oncoming traffic.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact officers on 101.”
