Dundee United manager denies using mobile whilst driving

Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara is to stand trial on a charge which alleges he used a mobile phone while driving.

The 41-year-old has pleaded not guilty and will appear on the charge next month at Edinburgh Justice of the Peace Court.

Prosecutors claim McNamara, of Loanhead, Midlothian, used the phone on September 30 2013 on the A6016 at Millerhill Road in nearby Danderhall.

McNamara didn’t appear in person when the case against him called on Wednesday morning.

The case was continued and will next call on July 15.
