Police responded following a report that a lorry had collided with a railway bridge in Dunfermline.
Officers arrived at the scene shortly after 1.25pm and closed Elgin Street to traffic.
The road was closed at Grange Road, Primrose Lane and Netherton Broad Street as a result.
Thankfully no one was injured and the vehicle has now been removed from underneath the bridge.
Network Rail have been called to check the structural integrity of the bridge prior to the road being reopened.
Police said that the driver will be reported to the procurator fiscal.
