A driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs during a joint police and DVLA enforcement operation at Bankhead Industrial Estate in Edinburgh yesterday.

The day of action also saw officers take 13 untaxed vehicles off the road, clamp a further three and issue one ticket as part of efforts to improve safety in the area.
The operation followed reports from the community about a number of untaxed vehicles using local roads and was aimed at improving safety for those living and working in the area.
During the day, 13 vehicles were uplifted, three were clamped and one ticket issued.
Officers also arrested a driver suspected of being under the influence of drugs, removing a serious and immediate risk from the road.

The action was welcomed by members of the public online.
One social media user said they hoped the enforcement was focused on the industrial estate, describing ongoing problems with vehicles parked on corners and access points, making it difficult for lorries to get through.
They also suggested time limits on parking, noting that some vehicles are left all day, and sometimes for days, by people using the nearby tram.
Another user praised the operation, thanking officers and encouraging them to keep the enforcement activity going.
A third highlighted the importance of the drug driving arrest, saying they were pleased to see action taken and pointing out that stopping someone driving under the influence could have prevented a far more serious outcome.
Officers say operations like this rely on information from the community and help address everyday issues that affect road safety and access for local businesses.
Members of the public are encouraged to continue reporting concerns so action can be taken where it is needed most.
