Emergency services remain at an Edinburgh city centre scene after concern for a man on a roof in the Lawnmarket area.

Police Scotland said officers received a report of concern for a man on the roof of a building in the Lawnmarket area at around 1.15am on Friday, 12 June, 2026.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it was alerted at 5.44am and dispatched two fire appliances and a high reach vehicle to Mound Place to support emergency service partners.

An image shared with SWD Media, taken at the scene on Friday morning, shows a significant emergency service presence on Mound Place at around 8am, with multiple ambulances, fire engines and police vehicles in attendance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.15am on Friday, 12 June, 2026, we received a report of concern for a man on the roof of a building in the Lawnmarket area of Edinburgh.

“There is no risk to the public and emergency services remain in attendance.”
