Coach drivers are not normally noted for their cheerfulness but it seems one is already getting in the Christmas spirit.
An amazed commuter posted a picture of a coach in Fife with “Merry Xmas” on its electronic display at the back.
Despite it only being mid-September, with 97 “sleeps” until Christmas, the Moffat & William coach driver was eager to get the people of Glenrothes in the mood early.
Mike Macdonald was a passenger in a car on his way to work when he spotted the premature sign and took the snap.
The 33-year-old from nearby Cowdenbeath posted the photo to Twitter with the caption: “Haud the bus! Seen this morning in Glenrothes. Moffat & Williamson starting the festivities early this year.”
Speaking yesterday, he said: “I was shocked. I’ve not even had my summer holiday yet and I’m being reminded it’s nearly Christmas.”
A spokesman for Moffat & Williamson did not seem to be in the Christmas mood, however.
“It will just be driver error,” he said.
“Someone will just have pressed the wrong button.”
