Dash cam footage has captured the moment two vehicles collided on the A47 at North Burlingham during roadworks.

The incident happened shortly before 11am on Friday 16 January and involved a white Ford Transit van and a black Audi, Norfolk Constabulary said.

In the footage, the Audi can be seen drifting over double white lines into oncoming traffic. It narrowly misses another vehicle before continuing across the carriageway and colliding with the van.

The video appears to show the Audi’s brake lights only coming on a split second before impact.

Traffic behind the vehicles slows quickly following the collision.

The driver who recorded the footage said he believed the Audi driver may have lost consciousness before the collision. He said: “I think the driver fell asleep or passed out.”

Norfolk Constabulary said: “We are continuing to investigate following a collision involving a white Ford van and a black Audi car on the A47 at North Burlingham shortly before 11am on Friday 16 January.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has additional footage of the incident has been asked to contact Norfolk Constabulary.
