Dash cam footage shows a driver lose control as their car spun around a roundabout but escaped unscathed – luckily it was only his or her pride was dented.
The clip shows the driver of a blue Ford KA driving around the Five Ways Roundabout on a wet Friday morning at 8.06am in Hull on March 19.
Fortunately a white van behind the car heading onto Askew Avenue did not need to swerve, and other vehicles stopped whilst the driver turned around and drove towards Pickering Road.
Stephan Swanepoel captured the blunder on his dash cam and admits that he too has lost control on the same roundabout.
Sharing the video online as a warning to other drivers, Stephan wrote: “I’ve lost control before on this roundabout, luckily I did not spin out like this.
“I blamed my car, but now I know that this is a slippery road when wet – take care all drivers.”
Carling Young commented: “I’ve done that twice.”
Lisa Young said: “Why people need to go so fast round around about beats me.”
Others suggested that there may have been a oil or diesel spill, however it appears to have been an isolated incident as Humberside Police confirmed that they had received no reports.
Also last month another near miss at the same roundabout was uploaded to Facebook page ‘Road Share: Improving Our Standards Together’.
The clip showed a reckless driver speeding and failing to give way forcing oncoming vehicles to take evasive action.
One user said that this standard of driving is “becoming the norm in Hull”.
The man behind the group has since deleted the Facebook page and matching Twitter account – it’s not known if he received backlash from any of the drivers featured.
