Videos Spark Online Discussion Airlink and Lothian vehicles accessed in footage raising questions about depot security.
The clips posted online appear to show a man exploring parked buses at Edinburgh Seafield depot.
In the first clip, Daniel is seen briefly sitting in the driver’s seat of a parked Airlink bus before walking the length of the vehicle on both the lower and upper decks while filming the empty interior.
He has said the bus doors were left open and that he did not break in.

Following criticism from some viewers about the legality and safety of the footage, Daniel later posted a second video filmed at the same depot.
In this clip, he appears to board a Lothian branded bus using the emergency door open button.
While seated in the driver’s seat, he can be heard saying, “It’s crazy, you don’t actually need a key for this,” before jokingly asking, “Will I drive us somewhere?”

His accomplice laughs and pretends to pay using the contactless reader
He also picks up the radio and says “Hello, hello” to the control room. Part of the footage shows the lower half of the accomplice in grey leggings walking up the stairs as Daniel closes the doors.
The pair later sit at the back of the top deck, and Daniel is seen opening and closing the emergency exit window during the exploration.

While walking upstairs, Daniel says, “We’re homeless for the night, what do they want us to do?”.
The clip ends with the pair laughing after the control room apparently responds to their call over the radio although this isn’t audible.
It appears the vehicles are being accessed while parked on the depot exit road, where buses are typically lined up ready to enter service.

The videos have drawn a range of responses online. One user commented, “Breaking into a bus in a live depot, that’s one way to get barred off Lothian.”
Another wrote, “You have angered the bus spotters mate.”
A further comment warned, “Even tho the bus is off, the cameras still record, just saying m8, even cab ones.”

Another viewer, claiming to be a Lothian mechanic, added, “They turn off after half an hour of the bus being off, I only know this because I’m a mechanic for Lothian.”
This claim has not been independently verified.
Lothian Buses have been contacted for comment.

Daniel’s series of urban exploration posts documents off limits or closed locations around Edinburgh.
These depot videos are thought to be his first known footage involving buses at the site.
