A HEART-WARMING video shows the moment husband self-isolating recreates iconic movie scene using Ring doorbell to send romantic message to wife.

Nathan Spencer stood on his doorstep in Luton with his own digital version of cue cards, similar to those used by Mark (Andrew Lincoln) and a boombox to declare his love for Juliet (Kiera Knightly) on Christmas Eve in the 2003 film Love Actually.

The clip recorded last month begins as he makes a Shhh! gesture with his finger, and then begins swiping through the cards that read: “Say it’s carol singers.

“With any luck, by next year, I will be going out with one of these girls.”

On screen there is three pictures of his wife Anna, 38, and the fourth is of the former Radio 1 DJ, Maya Jama.

“But for now, let me say, without hope or agenda, just because its October – and in October you tell the truth.

“To me you are perfect, and my wasted heart will love you until you look like this.”

A image of a mummified corpse appears on screen before the final card says simply: “Merry October”

Nathan, 40, was self-isolating after returning from abroad, and says he had too much time on his hands when came up with the idea.

The plan was for his wife to be watching him perform scene live whilst at work – as she would get a motion alert notification to her phone.

Speaking today he said: “I recreated Andrew Lincoln’s Love Actually door scene to my Ring doorbell so my wife would get a phone notification and watch it at work.

“As it happens after all that she was too busy at work to watch it, there had also been a few deliveries that day so she just saw loads of missed notifications!

“She did eventually get to see it later that evening when she got home.”

On social media Jonika Kinchin commented: “This is my most favourite thing ever.”

Video calls have become a part of daily life since the pandemic hit, helping the locked-down keep in touch – who needs Zoom or Microsoft Teams when you have a Ring Doorbell eh?
