POLICE have arrested a 30-year-old man after he stole a bus from a north east bus station and moments later mounted the pavement and crashed into wall.
The incident happened on Hanover Street, Fraserburgh at 9.35pm on Saturday (18/09/2021) evening.
Footage captured by Leanne Wilson allegedly shows the accused drunk driving the Stagecoach bus and the same vehicle later crashed into a wall close to Bicocchis Ice Cream shop in the College Bounds area of the town.
The clip was captioned: ‘OMG some blootered bam just stole a bus.’
Leanne and a male friend can be heard egging on the man, “He’s started it up, he’s gonna take off, go on then!” she said.
As he drivers away the man says: “He can get the jail for that by the way.”
The clip then cuts to the bus crashed into a wall.
“Right into the wall, no way.” Leanne adds.
A separate clip captured by motorist Nicky Goodbrand, 38, shows a group gathered around the vehicle that narrowly missed the bus stop – it comes to an end as Police are on scene.
