SHOCKING FOOTAGE shows a motorist launch tirade at school bus driver as he accuses her of speeding after he pulled out and blocked the road.
The incident happened at 7.54am on Wednesday December 3, on Wallingford Road in Goring, Oxfordshire.
Karen Bishop was behind the wheel of the school run minibus that was approaching Goring-on-Thames, from South Stoke Village with 12 children onboard between the ages of 11 and 17.
As the Toyota Hilux truck comes into view it’s parked on a driveway of a property, however he immediately drives forward into the road.
Karen easily stopped the minibus safely as she was travelling at approx. 25mph, however instead of driving off, the unidentified man got out his truck and marched towards the minibus shouting.
His exact words are not captured by the dash cam, however it’s understood he accused her of speeding.
Karen, 53 responded: “I was not, I was doing 25, get out of the way – prat!
“Stopping a three ton vehicle pulling out a driveway.”
She is then able to drive around the truck as a van on the opposite side of the road is stopped hazards lights on.
Karen has held a full PCV license for over 30 year, and runs family business KGB Travel Services with her husband Gordon.
Gordon, 52, has also worked in the public transport industry for over 30 years and is a qualified PCV instructor.
Sharing the footage online Gordon wrote: “My wife driving our school minibus, full of children, on the morning school run when this happens.”
Allan Booth commented: “Minibus has right of way its not even debatable, clown in the pickup should’ve just put his hands up and went on his way – now he’s probably going to get a slap from one of the locals for his attitude.”
Ian Anthony said: “If she was driving too fast she would not of been able to stop.
“The fact she did stop in plenty of time clearly shows the moron in the 4WD is at fault, and what kind of Neanderthal gets out and shouts at a bus full of kids – disgusting behaviour and he should be ashamed of himself.”
Jonathan Gough added: “He needs to retake his driving test after he has finished his anger management course.”
Oxfordshire County Council, the highways authority has approved a £60,000 road safety improvement scheme for the village with work expected to begin in the new year.
