Roofer fries breakfast on dashboard as driver struggles to stay awake

An APPRENTICE roofer has revealed his unconventional and dangerous way of having breakfast on the move as the driver struggles to stay awake.

Reece Beasley, 24 from Bournemouth was being driven to a job when he lit the gas camping stove on the dashboard and threw five bratwurst sausages into a frying pan.

At the side there is a box of eggs to compliment the bangers on a breakfast roll.

The camera pans to the driver who appears to be feeling the effects of the gas or heat as he wipes his face attempting to stay alert.

Road safety experts have described the actions of the passenger as “A recipe for disaster” and “Some of the wurst driving they have seen”.

The clip of their drive through Moors Valley Country Park in Ashley Heath, has been viewed over 385,000 times, liked 25,000 times and received over 650 comments.

One user commented: “Imagine explaining to the insurance why you have 3rd degree burns from the crash.”

Another wrote: “It never ceases to amaze me how people are willing to put other people at risk with their stupidity.”

A third said: “Great idea until he accelerates and that boiling fat goes all over them both.”

A fourth added: “Tell me your British without telling me your British.”

Edmund King, AA president, said: “It looks like the driver should have been in bed rather than having a full English fried up on his dashboard.

“It is dangerous to have hot fat and open flames inside any vehicle on the move.

“Any sharp braking could have blinded the driver with burning fat.

“Always best to cook your breakfast and eat it before you set off rather than on the move.

“Cooking meals on wheels on the move is never a smart move.”

Police have confirmed they aren’t aware of the incident.

Reece is beginning to get himself a reputation for his dangerous stunts on the road and behind the wheel.

In December 2020 he was stopped by Police driving a Ford Transit on Lansdowne Road, Bournemouth.

Officers suspected him of drink driving and found he had 58 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

He pled guilty at Poole Magistrates court and was fined £400, ordered to pay a £40 surcharge, £85 costs and was disqualified from driving for 16 months.
