Serious collision between bus and van closes Queensferry Road in Edinburgh

A serious collision involving a Lothian Bus and a white van has closed a busy road in West Edinburgh on Tuesday evening.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at the junction with Clermiston Road North and Queensferry Road A90 shortly after 10.30pm.

Unconfirmed reports suggest a passenger on the top deck required treatment to a head injury, it is not known if anyone else was injured.

At around 11.25pm the bus was moved and the damage to the front of the van is visible.

A local woman who did not wish to be named said: “There was a loud bang noise outside, and I saw the van had crashed into the bus.

“A passenger on the top deck has a head injury, and other passengers that remained on the bus who have also been checked out by paramedics.”

Services 21, 43 and 200 heading westbound were diverted via Davidson Mains, Crammond Road South and Gamekeepers Road leading to Barnton junction.

Police Scotland, Ambulance and Lothian Buses have been contacted for comment.
