A motorist has been spotted on his mobile phone whilst driving through a housing estate in West Dumbartonshire.
The incident on Dunbritton Road on Sunday afternoon was recorded covertly by a pedestrian wearing a pair HD Video Camera Sunglasses.
This is thought to have been the first reported incident by a pedestrian using such a device, and it raises the question of where offenders are safe – with motorists using dash cams and cyclists using helmet cams also.
The witness that did not wish to be identified said: “I was walking my dog on that day when I stopped for traffic. As I waited, I was shocked to see the driver of a blue Vauxhall Corsa holding a mobile phone in his right hand while at the wheel turning a corner.
“I was even more surprised because I caught the whole thing on my camera sunglasses!
“I notified Police Scotland of the incident, but due to fear of repercussions (revenge attacks) from the driver, I decided not to proceed further with a statement.”
