According to the seller, the previously loved 45 year old car located in Dalton In Furness, Cumbria, has sat on a driveway for the last 25 years, after the current registered keeper sadly passed away – “ultimately resulting in what you see today”.

It is clear to see from the images that rotten bodywork of the MK2 Ghia 3.0l is beyond repairs, however the seller insists that there are many rare parts that can be harvested from within.

The vehicle is still registered, however doesn’t come with a V5 document but does come with a receipt when it was purchased from its only previous owner in 1978.

A replacement document would need to be obtained to retain the vehicle registration number.

The coupé is currently stored on a pallet, and it appears any parts that have fallen off have been thrown in through the roof, including a spare wheel and there are weeds growing on the dashboard.

Parts are listed as: “A full set of alloy wheels, a full set of green glass (the passenger door glass is in the car, all are un etched), rear lights, an uncracked dash (it is wet but not cracked), dials, driver’s door mirror, steering column and locks with key, much hard to find trim both inside and out as well as much, much more.

“The engine, box, axle etc is all there, the engine we cannot turn.”

Mileage is unknown as the seller claims it is too risky to open the driver’s door in case it snaps in half.

A third commented: “A drop of Tcut it will be fine.”

A fourth added: “It didn’t say ‘first to see will buy’ so I’m not interested.”

The Ford Capri MK2 3.0l was manufactured between 1974 and 1978 and boasted the Essex V6 engine.

According to howmanyleft.co.uk there are only 14 MK2 Capris on the road in the UK today, with a further 12 currently with a SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) in place.
